Five Years Later, God Abandons

Five years of carnage. Over one million Iraqis killed since the American Occupation began in 2003. Since then, over 5 million have been displaced. The US death toll has risen to over 4,000. But at least we're safer, right?
Oil. Money. Greed. Imperialism.
These are a few of my favorite things. What are we fighting for? Why are children dying? Mothers crying? Why is no one truly trying? Hate breeds more hate. Violence encourages violent acts. Terrible acts create terrorists. The bloodshed continues.
Nothing seems to sway the minds of the empire, the tyrants. The world power has decided and nothing will change that. If soldiers refused to fight, there could be no war. If the people only cared. Rather, America sits comfortably on the couches of comfort while the world rises on their feet. We are on the brink of destruction.
This paradise is melting away; no one cares. One quarter of a population is gone; no one knows. Young men and women are dying for corruption; no one listens. The world is coming to its doom; God turns away.
The mind is closed; the conscience is hiding away; the eyes shut tighter; the heart has stopped beating.
Small things always destroy the larger.
Literature will kill architecture.
Schoolbooks will kill the cathedrals.
The Bible will kill the Church
And man will kill God
This will kill that.

May we end our days in peace.
