A Poem...

Painful Ties

Those eyes sharp enough to pierce the sun
That roar enough to shake the largest mountain
That hate enough to taint the bluest sky red
That pain deep enough to reach the furthest trench.

No song can save you now
No flower can brighten your day
No arm can reach you
No child can cleanse your soul

You can run forever
But you are still stuck
On the treadmill of life
Books will end
Your life will too
Move on through the dark
Fight off the monsters of the past
Push aside the evils of today.

No story is as sad as yours
No hurt is as painful as yours
No hand is as strong as yours
No mind is as wise as yours

I pray for your soul
I cry for your hardened heart
I thank you for your love
I beg you for a new you
